EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION: Remote Operations
To ensure the safety of our students, faculty and staff, the University will be open under REMOTE operations for Tuesday, December 16.
Remote operations addresses the winter travel hazards we are facing while permitting important work that must be accomplished to be done before the holiday break.
Employees should speak with their supervisors if they have questions about their remote work responsibilities.
Some personnel necessary to the operation of the University — including many who work in the Physical Plant, Dining Services, the Falcon Center, and the Police Department — are considered essential employees and are expected to report to campus. If it is unsafe to do so, please consult your supervisor.
The University anticipates returning to regular operations on Wednesday, December 17. Any additional weather updates will be communicated through our emergency alert system, social media, and the University website.
Note that due to this weather system, we anticipate closure of the top deck of the parking garage for the next few days. (This location accounts for a significant portion of winter slip, trip, and fall injuries on campus. To support the integrity of the structure, salt or other ice melting agents cannot be used. Structural deterioration from de-icers can lead to major repairs costing hundreds of thousands of dollars.) The University will alert motorists via large yellow signs posted at the traffic circle, near Turley Center, and at the top of the hill.

This process will remain unchanged to request business cards. To place your order please visit the Business Card Request Form. Please allow 7-14 days for your order to be delivered from our off-campus printer.
Letterhead and envelopes can now be ordered through Central Stores. You can find the order forms on the Forms Repository under “Facilities & Capital Projects."
In 2020, the University began a partnership with PaperCut, a pay-for-print management system. All UCA’s are connected to your department’s budget. This allows you to print at any machine around campus.
Three Printing Options:
When you arrive at any campus Xerox printer – you will then release your print job with your ID card.
Staff or faculty with printing needs for projects that are beyond these capabilities, contact Communications, Marketing, & Creative Services at CMCS@fairmontstate.edu. CMCS staff can aid you in working with an off-campus printing vendor. Off-campus printing projects include but are not limited to brochures, postcards, programs, banners, posters, booklets, and stickers.
CMCS staff will assist you in placing an order with the University’s outside printing vendor or with another licensed vendor. Lead time for printing projects for external printers is two weeks on average. Be sure to allow enough planning time to receive your project by your deadline.
CMCS staff asks for your patience and partnership as we work to realign our processes and absorb these services to serve our campus departments.
