Fairmont State students to travel to state capitol for Day at the Legislature

Representatives from Fairmont State University will be traveling to the West Virginia State Capitol in Charleston on Friday, January 27 to share the University’s offerings.

Students, staff, and faculty will be in attendance to discuss academics and other opportunities available at Fairmont State with legislators and members of the state executive branch. The Student Government Association, members from the Alumni Association, Admissions and Recruitment representatives and others from different University departments will all be present.

“Fairmont State Day at the Legislature is a wonderful event that allows us to share the life-changing opportunities we offer to our community with state leadership,” said Fairmont State University Interim President Dr. Dianna Phillips. “We are able to continue to educate and create skilled West Virginia leaders and workers through the support of our state’s elected officials.”

Attendees are invited to connect via social media by using the hashtag #SoarFalcons and following @FaimontState on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

Fairmont State University’s cozy, tree-filled hilltop campus is located in Fairmont, along the state’s growing high technology corridor. Fairmont State is a comprehensive, student-centered, state-supported institution offering 41 degree programs and over 90 programs of study in the arts and sciences, engineering and technology, teacher education, nursing and business administration. The institution is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association.
