to assist you in assuring that you are ready to begin FSU.
- Make formal application and be admitted in a degree or certificate granting program.
- File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at studentaid.gov.
- Review your myFairmontState and FELiX account on a regular basis for additional information
requests.
- Review, Complete, and Return all requested documentation as soon as possible.
- Register for your courses. Many state and institutional programs require a student
to be enrolled full-time (12+ hours) while many federal programs require half time
enrollment (six to eight hours). A less than half time student may be eligible for
a Pell Grant and other funds such as the Higher Education Adult Part-Time Student
Grant (WV Residents only).
- If you accepted federal loans to assist you with covering your cost of education,
you will need to complete an Entrance Counseling and a Master Promissory Note at studentloans.gov
