Tree Lighting Ceremony Set for Dec. 5

Dec 01, 2005

Fairmont State students, faculty and staff and the general public are invited to kick off the holiday season by attending a Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at the Falcon Center.

"We're hoping to restore this Fairmont State holiday tradition and welcome all students, faculty and staff as well as members of the community to attend," said Fairmont State Student Government President Shane Livingston.

The ceremony, sponsored by Student Government, will feature a reading of "The Christmas Story" by the Rev. Michael Waide of the Wesley Foundation, caroling led by the FS Collegiate Singers and cookies and hot cocoa served by Student Government members. Campus administrators and representatives of campus organizations will place ornaments on the tree.
