Kim Riggi Named Director of Major Gifts

Oct 10, 2005

Fairmont State has named Kim M. Riggi as Director of Major Gifts in the Office of Institutional Advancement and the Fairmont State Foundation, Inc.

As Director of Major Gifts, Riggi will be responsible for donor cultivation and securing major donations to the Fairmont State Foundation, Inc., in support of the institution.

"Kim is an excellent addition to our team," said K. Jean Ahwesh, Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Executive Director of the Fairmont State Foundation, Inc.

"I am looking forward to working closely with her on new initiatives to expand support for the institution within the Fairmont State community and beyond."

Riggi, a Fairmont area native, graduated from Fairmont State in 1985. She joins the Fairmont State team with more than 15 years experience in the non-profit world. Most recently Riggi was the Executive Director for the Lupus Foundation of America, Piedmont Chapter in Charlotte, N.C. There, she doubled the Piedmont Chapter's level of giving during her first year on the job. She also designed and initiated the Piedmont Chapter's first major giving campaign: the Butterfly of Hope for the Cure Campaign.

"I am so honored to be able to return home with my family and to participate in such meaningful work for our community," Riggi said. "Fairmont State has been integral in my career success, and I have always wanted to give back to the institution. The position allows me to return the gifts that I have received from Fairmont State and also to aid others in their support of the institution."

Riggi is married to Joe Riggi and has two sons: Joseph, 18, and Anthony, 14.
