Stories in the Schools: A free workshop by nationally-acclaimed story man Kevin Cordi

Apr 12, 2019

The West Virginia Storytelling Guild will host a day of stories at the historic Frank and Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center on the Fairmont State University campus.

At 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 27th, the day begins with a mini-workshop (just one hour!) by Kevin Cordi, heralded as one of the “nation’s primary advocates for youth storytelling”. In addition to telling and teaching, Kevin has also authored several works on the value of stories in schools. In this mini-workshop, Kevin will talk about his most recent publication, one about—you guessed it—stories and storytelling in schools.

In this mini-workshop, Kevin will talk about his most recent publication, You Don't Know Jack: A Storyteller Goes to School.  Come for coffee at 9:45 a.m., learn how to teach students to be effective storytellers and how storytellers can promote their services to schools. Kevin will provide a free resources packet to all workshop participants.

Register for this event by emailing Katie Ross at okross40@gmail.com. Registration will close on April 21. Visit the West Virginia Storytelling Guild webpage at www.wvstorytellers.org for more information.

The Frank and Jane Gabor West Virginia Folklife Center is the home of the West Virginia Storytelling Guild.
