School of Business students recognized with awards, scholarships

Fairmont State University honored School of Business students for their academic achievement and named scholarship recipients at the 2019 Scholarship and Award Presentation on April 26th. 

Many of the awards and scholarships presented at the banquet were made possible through gifts to the Fairmont State Foundation, Inc.

Marissa Altovilla, a graduate of Lincoln High School, was awarded the Stanley and Mary Beafore Scholarship and Rusty and Kimberly Huston Family Endowed Scholarship. A business major with a minor in English, she is the daughter of Pasco and Tracie Altovilla of Shinnston, W.Va. 

Curtis Duvall, a graduate of Grafton High School, was the recipient of the Conley CPA Group Accounting Excellence Award. An accounting and business administration with a concentration in finance major, he is the son of Dianna Duvall of Flemington, W.Va. 

Neil Alban, a graduate of Watkins Mill High School, was the recipient of the Mary B. and Edgar N. Jaynes Endowed Scholarshio. A junior business administration major with a concentration in management with a minor in political science, he is the son of Gladys Urtecho of Gaithersburg, MD. 

Carrie Isnehart, a graduate of Elkins High School, was awarded the Edward Jones Endowment Scholarship. A junior business administration major with concentrations in finance and marketing, she is the daughter of Henry and Angela Isenhart of Elkins, W.Va. 

Kystin Westfall, a graduate of Morgantown High School, received the George E. Lambert Family Endowed Fund for Education. An accounting major with a minor in music, she is the daughter of Charles and Christine Westfall of Morgantown, W.Va. 

Darby Petersen, a graduate of Ripley High School, was the recipient of the LeDonne Family Accounting Scholarship. A senior accounting major with a minor in economics, she is the daughter of Matt and Tiffany Petersen of Ripley, W.Va. 

Sarah Haddix, a graduate of Liberty High School, was a recipient of a PDC Energy Impact Scholarship. A junior accounting major, she is the daughter of Mark and Dawn Godfrey of Salem, W.Va. 

Kaylee Johnson, a graduate of Brooke High School, was awarded an Anthony J. And Josephine Pitrolo Endowed Scholarship. She is an accounting business administration with a concentration in finance major the daughter of April Boyd and Joe Johnson of Wellsburg, WV. 

Erin Sloan, a graduate of North Marion High School, was awarded the Anthony J. And Josephine PItrolo Endowed Scholarship. A freshman business administration major with a concentration in finance, she is the daughter of Eric and Paula Efaw of Mannington, W.Va.

Shawn Peters, a graduate of Liberty High School, received the Woodrow A. Potesta Scholarship of Accounting. A double major in accounting and business administration with a concentration in finance, he is the son Michelle and Gary Peters of Clarksburg, W.Va. 

Samuel Biafore, a graduate of Bridgeport High School, was the recipient of the Frank and Florence Sansalone Scholarship. He is a business administration major with a concentration in marketing and the son of John and Denise Biafore of Bridgeport, W.Va. 

Leo Fleming, a graduate of University High School, was a recipient of the Louis Schoolnic Endowed Scholarships. He is an accounting and business administration with a concentration in finance major and the son of Dan and Cindy Fleming of Morgantown, W.Va.

Cassidy Greenwood, a graduate of Oak Hill High School, was a recipient of the Louis Schoolnic Endowed Scholarships. She is a business administration major with a concentration in finance and a minor in public administration, the daughter of Brian Greenwood and Abbie Ward of Oak Hill, W.Va. 

Lauren Heflin, a graduate of Nicholas County High School, received a Louis Schoolnic Endowed Scholarship. She is a junior who is majoring in accounting and business administration with a concentration in marketing. She is the daughter of Scott and Julie Heflin of Summersville, W.Va. 

Heidi Hormell, a graduate of Morgantown High School, was a recipient of a Louis Schoolnic Endowed Scholarship. A junior business administration major with concentrations in management and economics, she is the daughter of Ronald and Rebecca Hormell of Daybrook, W.Va. 

Colby Kitzmiller, a graduate of Petersburg High School, received a Louis Schoolnic Endowed Scholarship. An accounting and business administration with a concentration in finance major and the son of Steve and Vicki Kitzmiller of Maysville, W.Va. 

Donald Kummer, a graduate of Bridgeport High School, received the Robert (Buck) Thompson Family Scholarship. He is a senior marketing major with a minor in management and the son of Brian and Debbie Kummer of Bridgeport, W.Va. 

Mary Frances Yankie, a graduate of East Fairmont High School, was the recipient of the Outstanding Senior in Accounting Award. She is double majoring in accounting and business administration with a concentration in management. She’s the daughter of Terry and Holly Yankie of Barrackville, W.Va. 

Jordan Grimmett, a graduate of Greenbrier West High School, received the Outstanding Senior in Business Award. A business administration major with a concentration in management, the son of Stanley and Angela Grimmett of Rainelle, W.Va. 

Reno Cutright, a graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School, was named the Outstanding Senior in Information Systems Management. An information systems management major, he is the son of Chuck Cutright and Alice Grubb of Buckhannon, W.Va.

Kristen Rivera, a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School, was the recipient of the Outstanding MBA Student award. Working towards her Master’s in Business Administration, she is the daughter of George and Carol Tilko of Fairmont, W.Va.

Samatha Tate, a graduate of Weir High School, received the ACBSP Outstanding Student Leadership Award, the most prestigious business student award. A business administration major with a concentration in marketing, she is the daughter of Scott Tate and Gwen Fuccy of Weirton, W.Va.

Alexis Smith received the Gary Bennett Accounting Excellent Scholarship. 

Maya Christiansen was the recipient of the Dustin M. Burdoff Foundation award. 

Ashley Moore received the Dream, Succeed, & Lead award.  

Kaitlyn Wilkerson was awarded the Nicola and Carmella Fantasia Family Scholarship.  

Andrew Harris received the Glenn A. Harman Accounting Excellence Scholarship. 

Sarah Haller was the recipient of the Donald & Marcella Hoylman Endowed Scholarship. 

Olivia Anderson and  Rachel Toothman received PDC Energy Impact Scholarships. 

Tafara Ushendibaba was awarded the Emily Leaf Nichols Alumni Scholarship. 

Annalisa Hall received the John & Nancy Raley School of Business Scholarship. 

Kaleb Johnson, Destiny Sharpless, and Tyler Rhodes were all awarded Louis Schoolnic Endowed Scholarships. 

Adrianna Constable was awarded the Jed and Vicki Smith Scholars scholarship. 

Henry Kalu was the recipient of the WesBanco Bank Fairmont, Inc. Endowed Scholarship. 

Shelby Harman received the WesBanco Business Graduate Degree Endowed Scholarship. 

Maria D. Swiger was awarded Outstanding Senior in Healthcare Management.
