Kwiatkowski affirmed as CFO

In September, Fairmont State University’s Interim President Stephen B. Jones announced that Christa Kwiatkowski was named interim CFO and Vice President Administration and Fiscal Affairs. On Monday, President Mirta Martin affirmed Kwiatkowski’s position as the permanent CFO and Vice President Administration and Fiscal Affairs.

Kwiatkowski, who earned her accounting degree and MBA from Fairmont State University, has been with the University for a total of nine years, both as the Assistant Director of Accounting and the Financial Reporting Manager. Kwiatkowski also served for two years as CFO for the Fairmont State Foundation.

Since being named to the interim position, Kwiatkowski has begun managing additional departments and overseeing new iniatives. In her new position she not only oversees the Finance division, but also Facilities/Capital Projects, Campus Police, Information Technology, Falcon Center and Contractual Services provided by Aladdin Food Services and Follett Bookstore.

“Christa has proven to be an invaluable asset to Fairmont State University,” said Martin. “I’m confident that her leadership, foresight, fiscal mindedness, and dedication to Fairmont State will allow her to strengthen our institution. This is a critical position within any higher education community and we are fortunate to have this kind of homegrown talent within our ranks.” 

Kwiatkowski and her husband Adam live in Bridgeport with their daughter, Kaylie.
