Fast Track Jobs Info Session Planned

May 26, 2005

Fairmont State Community & Technical College is participating in a Fast Track Jobs program that provides residents of North Central West Virginia with access to quick, convenient job training for positions with companies that are currently hiring. Fast Track Jobs are training programs that can be completed in 90 days or less.

Orientation and information sessions on this and other Fast Track courses will be held at 1 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month at community and technical colleges across the state, including FSC&TC. These free information sessions will provide general information on Fast Track Jobs as well as other community and technical college programs.

FSC&TC offers a National Hardwood Lumber Association (NHLA) lumber grading program in Elkins. This is a 14-week course that prepares persons for a job as a hardwood lumber inspector.

Another option is Fairmont State's Certified Procedural Coder (CPC) Program. This leads to a professional certification in this medical billing and coding field.

The next information session will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 2, at FSC&TC's Center for Workforce Education, 320 Adams St., Suite G01, Fairmont. Representatives from Fairmont State will be on hand to answer questions and provide assistance to attendees.

For more information about FSC&TC's Fast Track Jobs, contact FSC&TC's Center for Workforce Education at (304) 367-4920. For information about programs at other colleges, call (877) TWO YEAR (896-9327) or visit www.wvctcs.org.
