RESA 7 Science Bowl Dec. 11 at Fairmont State

The 2014 RESA 7 Science Bowl will take place on Thursday, Dec. 11, in the Engineering Technology Building on the main Fairmont State University campus. The competition is hosted and sponsored in collaboration with RESA 7; Fairmont State University; and the U.S. Department of Energy, National Energy Technology Laboratory.

Competition begins at 9 a.m. with the final round to determine the winner starting at 2:30 p.m. in Room 303 of the Engineering Technology Building.

Each year 12 counties (Barbour, Doddridge, Gilmer, Harrison, Lewis, Marion, Monongalia, Preston, Randolph, Taylor, Tucker and Upshur) are invited to participate in the RESA 7 Science Bowl. Five counties (Harrison, Gilmer, Lewis, Marion and Monongalia) will participate in this year’s double elimination competition. 

Each school had an opportunity to bring two teams to the competition. The schools that will be participating in this year’s competition are as follows: Bridgeport High (one team), Clay-Battelle High (one team), Fairmont Senior High (one team), Gilmer County High (one team), Lewis County High (two teams), Morgantown High (2 teams), North Marion High (one team), Notre Dame High (two teams), South Harrison High (one team), University High (two teams).

First-, second- and third-place teams will move forward to the West Virginia State Science Bowl competition hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy, National Energy Technology Laboratory on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 6 and 7, 2015, at the main campus of West Virginia University.
