Whetstone Night Celebrates Student Creativity

May 05, 2015

The editorial staff of Whetstone, Fairmont State University’s undergraduate arts and literary journal, will host Whetstone Night, the launch party of Issue 34, on Monday, May 11.

The event will be held in the Ruth Ann Musick Library Multi-media Room A from 6-8 p.m. and will include contributor readings, a slide show of art work and a chance to pick up a copy of the issue, as well as light refreshments. This event is free and open to the public.

Whetstone was founded in 1995. The student editorial staff publishes high quality writing of all genres, as well as art of all media. The current editor staff includes: Caitlin Bonnette, Chris Dowell, Liz Dang, Andrew McCoy and Josh Fitzgerald.

Students who choose to join the editorial staff can hone their writing, editing, photographic and graphic-design skills in a professional setting using advanced computer technology, as well as earn credits. Students should watch their e-mail for a call to attend an informational meeting about joining Whetstone in fall 2015.
