Election Information Impact

Election Information

The Student Government Association (SGA) serves as a voice for all Fairmont State University students in deciding the policies, direction, and leadership of the school. As such, the responsibility of choosing who will lead the SGA and share that voice falls to the student body, who choose their representatives in bi-annual elections.

SGA elections are held in the spring and fall of each year. Spring Elections involve the identification of elected officers and representatives for various positions. Fall Elections focus on filling Freshman seats and any other vacant positions.

You can view an Election Packet that contains all relevant information for SGA elections and is updated each semester. It informs candidates and the campus community about the rules, regulations, and responsibilities of campaigning. An elections timeline will be made available for review prior to the launch of the fall and spring election cycles.

If you intend to run for student government, you will need to complete and sign a Nomination Form.
