As the impact of the historic global pandemic continues to be felt by students, Fairmont State is easing admission requirements for the fall 2021 semester. Beginning today, students may access and apply for admission without needing to submit an ACT or SAT score. The TEAS exam will be required for students applying for admission to the School of Nursing.
“This pandemic is an unprecedented event in all of our lives. But Fairmont State is rising to the challenge,” President Martin said. “We’re doing all we can to assist our students, our community, and our state during this crisis, because we’re all in this together. We must, and will, continue to educate the work-force for the next generation. We must continue to educate future nurses and healthcare professionals and teachers and leaders of tomorrow. We will do all we can to remove barriers to getting the education our future students need to achieve their goals.”
Fairmont State will suspend the standardized test requirement (ACT and SAT) for students applying for fall 2021 freshman admission. This modification is not intended as a change to our admissions policy but is only a temporary modification for those entering in fall 2021 due to situations related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
With so much uncertainty in our day to day lives, it can become easy to be deterred from long term planning. But for those who want to take control of their future, plan for a career, seek a college degree as a major life milestone, or those who may have put their future on the back burner when life got in the way – now is the time to plan, and plan early.
Joining the Falcon Family is more than just a matter of preference, it is a matter of destination. Fairmont State offers majors that will prepare you as a lifelong learner – and leader – in over fifty degree programs. More than just classroom lecture, Fairmont State puts students in hands-on classrooms and labs from day one. Students start in courses within their major from their first semester.
