American Chemical Society Invites Graduate Schools to Present on Campus

The American Chemical Society Student Affiliates at Fairmont State University plan to host graduate school presentations on campus for FSU students throughout the academic year.

The first graduate school presentation will be by Akron University from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29 in room 427 of the Engineering Tech Building. The talk will cover academic topics including polymer chemistry, as well as the requirements for graduate school admission.

Although the presentation will appeal most to students in chemistry, engineering technology, science and mathematics, students in any major are welcome to attend.

Other graduate schools invited to present at FSU include the following: Duquesne University, University of Connecticut, West Virginia University and the University of Pittsburgh.

“The presenters that will be coming to Fairmont to give speeches about graduate school were met by the American Chemical Society students at the National ACS Conference in Indianapolis. The graduate schools giving presentations were very impressed with what the ACS chapter at FSU was attempting to achieve and offered to come to speak on campus,” said Bryan Foley, Forensic Science, Chemistry and Biology major and ACS member.
