Student Government Delivers Donated Items to Local Agencies

Nov 28, 2010

During two events this fall, Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College Student Government members collected hundreds of pounds of donated goods to benefit local non-profit agencies.

On Thursday, Nov. 11, Alicia Nieman, Student Government President, and two other Student Government members, Jaron Hollida and Timothy Trimble, and Laurie Johnston, Director of Student Activities, delivered the items in time for the Thanksgiving season.

Hygiene products, school supplies, paper products and cleaning and kitchen supplies and monetary donations collected during Student Government’s Homecoming 2010 community service project were dropped off to the Union Mission and Scott Place in Fairmont. The group also delivered canned food donations collected during Student Government’s Family Movie Night and Food Drive event to the Union Mission, the Soup Opera and the Wesley Foundation House in Fairmont.
