Student Government Hosts Free Family Movie Night

Nov 13, 2009

Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College Student Government is sponsoring a Free Family Movie Night and Food Drive on Friday, Nov. 13.

The Disney Pixar movie "Up" will be shown at 6 p.m. in Colebank Hall gym. Admission is free and open to the public. Families are welcome. Parking will be available on the top level of the parking garage.

Those who attend are asked to bring one canned food item to donate to local food pantries.

"Student Government is thrilled to continue our tradition of inviting local families to campus for a free movie on a Friday night. We know that taking the entire family to the movies can be very expensive and think this is a good way to provide some very affordable quality entertainment to our community members who enjoy doing things together as a family," said Laurie Johnston, Director of Student Activities.

"This is also an excellent opportunity to provide young people a positive experience with participating in a community service effort by making the event a food drive. We humbly ask that families bring what they are able to donate."
