Campus Visitation Day Planned for Oct. 31

Oct 06, 2009

Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College will host a Campus Visitation Day on Saturday, Oct. 31. The event is designed for high school students and their families and adults who are deciding where to continue their education.

"We strongly encourage those of all ages who are considering taking college classes to attend our program. Campus Visitation Day is a great opportunity to get to know us," said Steve Leadman, Director of Admissions and Recruitment. "A new feature of this event is a special session tailored specifically to adult students.

"Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College provide more than 90 four-year programs, graduate programs, more than 50 two-year programs, certificates and skill sets to meet students' individual interests and needs. We want to help you find your future."

The event on the main campus will begin at 8:30 a.m. with registration in the Falcon Center. FSU President Thomas Krepel and Pierpont President Blair Montgomery will present a welcome. Those attending will have the opportunity to visit with faculty representatives from each academic program and receive information on housing, student life and financial aid.  Special sessions will also be offered on the Honors Program and EDGE Credit. Tours of campus will be available throughout the afternoon, and lunch will be provided free of charge for each guest. In the afternoon, students and family members will be invited to attend one of two special showcases featuring the Veterinary Technology and Nursing programs. Free tickets to the afternoon football game and tailgate will also be available. Participants may opt to tour the Gaston Caperton Center in Clarksburg from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. or the Robert C. Byrd National Aerospace Education Center in Bridgeport from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
