Weight Room Policies

  • Patrons must be 16 years of age to use the weight room
  • Patrons must wear proper athletic attire at all times; this includes a shirt that covers the torso, rib cage, and midriff. Shorts must have at least a 2-inch inseam. Shoes must be athletic closed toe. (This policy is designed to prevent MRSA and other infections from being passed through skin contact on pads/mats.)
  • Patrons should wipe down all equipment after use.
  • All personal belongings must be kept in lockers on the first floor or cubbies located in the weight room.  
  • All dumbbells, bars and free weights must be returned to their original and proper place immediately after use.
  • All equipment must be used in the manner it was designed. Do not attempt to use equipment that you are not familiar with. If you need help weight room staff is available to offer assistance.
  • Do not lean weights and bars of any kind against the walls, pillars, equipment, or mirrors.
  • Cardiovascular equipment is on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a 30-minute time limit on all cardio equipment when there are patrons waiting
  • No outside personal training is permitted in the facility.
  • Patrons should report any injuries or facility/equipment irregularities or malfunctions to the weight room monitor on duty.
  • Collars are required for use on all plate-loaded barbells.
  • Spotters are recommended for all free-weight exercises. A weight room monitor will spot anyone needing a spotter.
  • ALL Olympic style weightlifing must be done on the weightlifting/ deadlift pads.
  • Bumper plates MUST be used for Olympic style lifting at all times. No Exceptions
  • Weights must be CONTROLLED from the finished position to the ground. NO DROPPING OF WEIGHTS AT ANY TIME. 
  • The use of powder chalk is prohibited, liquid chalk is permitted.
  • These policies will be enforced at the discretion of staff. Anyone not adhering to these rules may be asked to leave the facility.
