Campus Visitation Day

Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College will host Campus Visitation Day on Saturday, October 31, 2009. Campus Visitation Day is an open house held for students of all ages (and their families) who are deciding where to continue their education. Campus Visitation Day is a great opportunity for prospective students to check out both institutions and to get to know us a little better. Check-in for the event will begin at 8:30a.m. in the Falcon Center (and depending on which sessions each student opts to participate in) most attendees can expect to finish with activities on the main campus between 2:00-3:00p.m.

Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College Presidents will give a welcome, followed by an academic fair and other informative sessions. Those attending will have the opportunity to visit with faculty members and receive information on admissions, financial aid and housing. Special sessions will also be offered on topics such as EDGE credits, the honors program, and veteran's information. And, the School of Nursing will showcase a tremendous new feature: life-like simulators!

Athletes: The FSU Athletic Department will have representatives on hand during the academic fair to answer questions and provide an overview of their NCAA Division II men's and women's programs. Then, at 1:00p.m., you will have the opportunity to see the Falcons in action as they take on Concord in a home football contest.

Campus and residence hall tours will also be offered throughout the day. And, after a FREE lunch, participants who wish to tour the Robert C. Byrd National Aerospace Education Center in Bridgeport and/or the Gaston Caperton Center in Clarksburg are welcome do so (Directions provided at checkout). Please note that a separate registration is required for either of these off-campus tours and that attendees should plan to provide their own transportation.

Please note: we will be hosting a special session within Campus Visitation Day for adult students (25 years and older). This special adult program will include information pertinent to non-traditional students (specifics regarding financial aid, available resources/services, off-campus/online classes, and much more). Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in the Academic Fair, enjoy a complimentary lunch, and have a tour of the main campus.
