Winter 2023 Classes Begin the week of January 2nd! 

 

Kid Prov Senior

Grade 7-12
Mondays 5:00-5:55 p.m.
Cost: $155:  7 Weeks

Instructor: Christian Cox

Improvisation Theatre.  Utilizing improv games will help students with their creative side and how to utilize spontaneity as performers.  This class is for new students. Previous students should join Team Kid Prov.           

 

Team Kid Prov (Senior)

This class is open to students who have had a previous Improv camp or class.

Let’s Get Ready to Act!

Grades K-2
Fridays 5:00-5:55 p.m.

Creative play and basics for the stage. Warm up games and more to explore what it takes to put on a show. Will feature a short performance of sketch or monologues.  *This class is open to students who have taken the class previously

 

Auditioning 101- The Basics.

Grades 2-12

Tuesdays 6:00-7:00

6 Weeks, beginning the week of Jan. 2nd.

Tuition- $300

*Recommended for students who are brand new to auditioning or have auditioned once or twice before.

Are you new to auditioning? Want to be in a play but you’re not sure how to prepare? Join us for this auditioning course geared towards helping you ace your audition. This course will cover how to pick material, prepare for your audition, and will provide opportunities for simulated auditions to make sure that you are ready for the real thing!

 

Auditioning 101- Let’s Level Up.

Grades 5-12

6 Weeks, beginning the week of Jan 2nd.

*Recommended for students with some audition experience.

Auditioning is a muscle, and we must train it just like the rest of our body! Join us for some advanced investigations into auditioning; we will explore best practices and learn how to kick it up a level. This course will cover picking material, preparing for your audition, callbacks, video submissions, and will provide opportunities for simulated auditions and callbacks to make sure you are ready for the real thing!

 

An Actor's Debut! (Preparing new actors for the stage)

Grades K-2
6 Weeks, beginning January 9th
Mondays 5-6pm
Cost: $200

Do you have a young actor ready to take the stage? With exciting spring show opportunities on the horizon, this class will prepare your child for auditions and the show experience! We will dance, act, and sing together! We will learn audition techniques, stage terms and what it means to be part of a cast of performers creating art together! Your young actor will be groomed, ready and excited for their stage debut! The class will end with a mini performance for families, as well as the materials needed for upcoming auditions. 

 

Period Acting and Dance (for the Experienced Young Performer)

*Recommended for students with previous acting experience

Grades 4-12
6 Weeks, beginning January 9th
Mondays 6-7:30pm

Ever had to play a role from a different time period or a world unlike your own? In this class for the advanced young performer, we will be leveling up in our exploration of other time periods and styles of acting and dance! We will learn popular dance styles through the ages such as the waltz, charleston, and swing. We will take on more unique characters from other times or fantasy worlds. This is a great way for your actor to gain new experiences before heading into our exciting spring show season! 

 

Drawing 101

Ages 7-18

Beginning January 17th

Tuesdays 5:00-6:00 (5 weeks)

Tuition- $125

Instructor- Holley Morrison

In this art class we will go through the basics of drawing, value, color, and design. We will also explore creative exercises to expand your imagination to create your own original work.

 

Intermediate and Beginner Winter Guard  

Cost: $200 per student for 10 2hr lessons   

When: Every Saturday @ 1pm-3pm starting Feb 4th ending on April 8th   

Requirements: Students in grades 7th – 12th. No experience and no auditions required to join.  

Instructor: Johnathan Richards 

Course Description: By the end of this 10-week course, students will know a full routine filled with beginner to intermediate skills on flag, various other equipment, and dance.  Students will have the opportunity to perform the learned routine at a Fairmont State University hosted event. If you have your own equipment (flag, rifle, sabre, etc.) don’t hesitate to bring it with you. 

 

To Tap or Not to Tap! Adult Tap (18+)

 Saturdays Time: 11:00am-12:00pm

Price: $135 4 weeks

January 28-February 18

Instructor: Ashley Fink

Break out those tap shoes and join me Saturday mornings for a little bit of tap! We’ll add new tap steps and skills each week. No previous experience necessary.
