Homecoming 2014 Set for October 23-25!
Each day, our Fairmont State alumni, students, faculty and staff make an impact in their community. They work as nurses, police officers, architects, and teachers. They volunteer at food pantries, domestic violence shelters, community development organizations, and children’s clubs. This year’s Homecoming is about celebrating and recognizing those who make a difference without fanfare or expectation of reward. They act because it is important and they recognize the value in impacting their community.
It’s finally here! After a freezing winter and a sweltering summer, fall season is finally upon us. And, as all the football commercials have been letting us know, it’s the most wonderful time of the year! That’s right—football season, and all the good Septemberfest and Homecoming festivities it ushers in, is here.

The first edition of The Mound yearbook was published in 1908 by the senior class of Fairmont State Normal School.
At that time, the school was located on Fairmont Avenue. Student organizations included religious, literary and academic societies. Tuition was free.
Now, you can view copies of The Mound yearbook online. Find photos and memories of friends or family that have attended Fairmont State.
