To apply for graduation, please come to the Student Services Center in 248 Hardway Hall. You will need to complete the graduation application, pay the graduation fee (if you have not already done so) and make an appointment for your degree audit.
Graduation Fees:
Graduate Students - $70.00
Undergraduate Students - $50.00
A late graduation application fee of $50.00 will be assessed beginning the day after the deadline to apply for graduation.
Degree Audit Appointments:
It is important to apply early or by the deadline for graduation and to complete your degree audit appointment to make sure that you are ready to graduate. PLEASE NOTE THAT APPOINTMENT TIMES ARE LIMITED AND DO FILL UP.
To schedule an appointment, please call 367- 4142 and ask for Stephanie or stop in 248 Hardway Hall.

May 2010 Graduation Notes
Commencement information can be picked up in room 248 Hardway Hall.
- COMMENCEMENT INFORMATION FOR FAIRMONT STATE UNIVERSITY: If you are receiving an Associate of Science degree in Nursing, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Safety Engineering, you will be participating in the University Ceremony.
- Commencement is Saturday, May 15 at 1:00 pm in the Feaster Center.
- Mandatory rehearsal will be at 8:30 am on May 15 in the Feaster Center.
- In order to participate in the ceremony, the Graduation Ceremony Reply Form must be returned to the Student Services Center in 248 Hardway Building by Monday, March 22, 2010.
- If you change your plans and decide not to participate in the ceremony at any time after you have submitted the Reply Form, please contact the Student Services Center at 304-367-4659 or email sgripper@fairmontstate.edu.
- To order a cop and gown (no additional charge), you must contact the Bookstore and complete the order form by Monday, March 22, 2010. If you are in the Honors Program, please indicate this on the form by writing 'Honors Program'. If you order your cap and gown after this deadline, you will pay a late fee to the Bookstore.
- Commencement attire is semi-formal; gowns are black, shoes and slacks should be a dark color as well.
- Tickets are not required for the ceremony or reception.
- A reception will follow Commencement for all graduates and families.
- Caps and gowns will be available for pickup beginning Wednesday, May 12 at the bookstore. You must have a photo ID to get your cap and gown.
- Diplomas will begin to be mailed to graduates receiving awarded degrees after June 21, 2010.
- COMMENCEMENT INFORMATION FOR PIERPONT COMMUNITY & TECHNICAL COLLEGE: If you are receiving an Associate of Science degree in Nursing, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Safety Engineering, you will be participating in the University Ceremony (See above).
- Commencement is Firday, May 14 at 6:30 pm in the Feaster Center.
- Mandatory rehearsal will be at 3:30 pm on May 14 in the Feaster Center.
