Admissions and Recruiting
Our recruiters spend their time highlighting what’s best about Fairmont State and informing potential students of the academic programs, social organizations and even extracurricular activities meet their needs to choose and graduate from FSU.
Career Development Center
The Career Development Center staff members manage career services, civic engagement and student employment. They prepare students to apply for jobs. They match employers with potential employees who’ve become career ready at Fairmont State. Civic Engagement opportunities to get students involved in their community are organized in the center. And, students who are seeking job opportunities on campus while taking classes can turn to the Career Development Center.
International Student Services
International Student Services staff members organize advising, tutoring, health services and more for our diverse student population. Goals include supporting international education, welcoming and assisting international students and arranging study abroad for native students.
The Retention Office workers take their task of keeping student engaged seriously. The mission is to make sure Fairmont State University is as appealing to students from the first day of freshman year to the day of graduation. They organize activities and events to entice university involvement and help organize Greek life activities on campus.
The Fairmont State University Honors program exists for students who want the additional challenge of courses designed to deepen and expand intellectual growth. Honors students participate in academic and social events where critical thinking is encourage and expected. The lab is a place for students to meet to complete additional work and consult with Honors program organizers and fellow Honor students.
Disability Services Center
Through the Disability Services Center, students can seek specific services and academic accommodations. The staff members work to remove barriers that could stand in the way of a student’s success. They open doors to give students access to test proctoring and electronic books. Disability Services Center workers bridge communication between instructors and students to create a comfortable learning environment.
The mission of the Fairmont State University Counseling Center is to assist and support students who encounter social-emotional barriers to defining and achieving personal and academic goals. Services include offering information on alcohol and drug abuse, sexual harassment, stress management, test anxiety, LGBTQA resources and more.
