The IBM Academic Initiative builds relationships with a broad spectrum of business and industry, and gains access to mainframe systems for FSU’s faculty and students.
All of the top 25 world banks, 71% of global Fortune 500 companies and 9 out of 10 top global life/health insurance providers utilize mainframes and related products. Most of those companies are working aggressively to ensure access to the talent pool that will replace their rapidly retiring experts. That means students who are part of the Fairmont State University IBM Academic Initiative are highly likely to take those skills right into the workforce upon graduation.
