Notes on Costs:

  • Full Time - defined as 12 or more credit hours each term
  • Tuition - based on the location of all classes being on the main campus
  • Books/Supplies - equal to the average from a random sample of student schedules
  • On-Campus Room/Board - average room costs for college residence hall and meal plan
  • Off-Campus Room/Board - equals the average rent for the academic year, including reasonable utilities, and an average monthly cost for food
  • Transportation - an amount sufficient to cover daily driving costs to classes and minimal trips to permanent residence
  • Personal - miscellaneous personal items for the academic year; commuter budget also includes an allowance for costs associated with maintaining student in parents' household

 

The following additional fees, among others, may be charged as applicable:

  • New Student/Pre-registration Fee
  • Technology Fee for Specific classes
  • Aviation Technology Fee

Undergraduate Tuition & Fee Chart

Rates are per credit hour up to 11 hours for undergraduate students.  Undergraduates registered for 12 hours or more are considered to be full time.  The charges below are tuition and fees that are assessed to all students.  There may be special fees, course fees, enhancement fees and/or program fees that are attached to certain courses or categories of students. 

  • "On Campus" tuition and fees apply to any student taking 1 or more hours on main campus.
    • "On Campus" - Refers to Fairmont State University main campus - 1201 Locust Avenue, Fairmont, WV.
  • "Off Campus" tution and fees apply to any student taking all hours off campus.
    • "Off Campus" - Refers to locations other than main campus.
  • "Virtual Campus" tuition and fees apply to any student taking all hours online. E-Learning fee is attached to all online classes regardless of campus.
    • "Virtual Campus" - Refers to online classes.
